For those who know, a chest freezer VS an external chiller unit is a "no brainer". External chiller units are like the external A/C units of your house. Which means that are very loud, need a lot of energy to work and will condensate water (i.e. get your floor wet). In the other hand, a chest freezer cold plunge is quiet, does not condensate at all and best of all it's simple design makes it extremelly energy efficient. Seriously, a chest freezer cold plunge will consume less than $10 a month of energy while a 1HP externl chiller will run for over $100 a month!!

- I got a Box Plunge DIY because of the ease of it. It went together quickly. If the freezer ever goes bad and can’t be repaired, I can swap the kit over to a new freezer and I’m not out the total cost of a built plunge. If for some reason I decide cold plunge therapy isn’t for me, I still have a working chest freezer. This kit is really a “set it and forget it” deal. -After plunging at a local shop I wanted one for the house for convenience and economic reasons.
